Teaching the horse that when we push, it does not mean to fall away is a critical principle to having a round horse. Why do we need a round horse? It is the only way they can comfortably carry weight. What is a round horse? One that does not drop the back away from the weight of the rider. To achieve this, the horse must control it’s own shoulders and carry even weight (not shift side to side).
