Understanding your horse
To succeed in communicating with our horse, the rider must first understand what is happening when
they are having a problem. Second is understanding why it’s happening and third is how to solve it.
This work is systematic, one idea builds on another.
I always start with straightness for both horse and rider, it is what leads to throughness. This means, we
have a relaxed horse that can use the top of it’s body to carry us.
All horses need to learn to lift their back to carry a rider (or at least not hollow it). It is simply mechanics,
it is the only way they can carry weight comfortably.
