This is a wonderful story! Archie was sent to auction from the Amish because he would fall down when driving, the scars on his knees tell the story. He was fortunate to be purchased by people who care, from the kill pen. He then ended up with one of my students.

When we first started, he tripped so much, I said to never let him walk on a long rein. To my surprise, with longe work (and a great owner!) he immediately stopped tripping! I never expected this! He is now working through the top of his body and not only no longer trips, but shows roundness and lift at times. This horse is a good example of what can change if we talk to the horse in a way they understand. Also, Amish horses tend to be very grateful that someone listens to them and takes their needs into consideration. I could not be more proud of this horse and rider, they put in the work and we now have a sound, healthy horse that is capable of not only carrying a rider but working toward pushing from behind.
